After more than a year of absence, Pacers guard Victor Oladipo officially returned to the court today. He played only 21 minutes in the Bulls' first game back, scoring only 9 points, 4 assists and 2 rebounds on 2 of 8 shots. However, his first seven three-point shots in the entire game missed the basket. Facing a three-point deficit with 10 seconds left, he still boldly chose to take a big three-pointer to help the team reach the overtime.
"This ball is dedicated to Kobe and Gigi and the other passengers who lost their lives in the helicopter accident." Faced with the joy of being back on the court and the sadness of the world losing a superstar, Oladipo couldn't help crying during the post-game interview. "I just shot. Mamba mentality, man, Mamba mentality." "This year has been really hard. I worked really hard. Thank you to my family, my friends, my teammates and the fans."
Oladipo suffered a torn quadriceps tendon in his right knee last January. Currently, the Pacers will implement a playing time limit on him. He will not play more than 24 minutes in each game and will not play back-to-back games. The injury is expected to be under control until at least the All-Star Game.
