2016/NOV/25th

Thank you, thank you, thank you again. For me, there is no day more suitable to express these feelings than today (11/24, US time, Thanksgiving Day). There are many ways I can communicate my post-career plans, and my family and close friends have been aware of my post-retirement plans since June of this year. It was really hard to announce these things, but with their endless support, I know I made the right decision.

I was raised by my incredible parents, Marilyn and Kevin, who taught me how to be a humble young man and take responsibility in the spotlight, and I owe them the world.

My amazing brother, Jonathan, taught me how to face any adversity and fight it off. My grandparents: Maxine and Dallas, gave their grandson all the resources and love during my childhood, allowing him to move forward without fear toward unrealistic dreams. Grandparents, Teena, Stanley and John, I am so grateful for your love and prayers. To my family, thank you for instilling the most important qualities in my soul that I rely on day in and day out. I love each and every one of you so much!

Kevin Martin and his wife Jill Arnold

Most importantly, without the huge support of my wife Jill Arnold, I would never have been able to survive the rigorous daily training and everything I have experienced over the years, and I would not even be able to write this letter here now...She is my greatest luck, To have a soul mate who would change his life for me. Thank you Tim and Joy Arnold for raising such a beautiful woman. Jill was blessed with the pregnancy of our new daughter, Anna Capri, who has completed my life.

For my community, I think the only thing I can do is personally thank this place for being the place that has supported me since I started playing basketball at age 18. This place is Zaneswell (Zanesville, a city in southeastern Ohio, United States, and the county seat of Muskingum County). oh! Everything I remember is related to you! From day one of my amazing journey, you guys have been indescribably special. To be honest, this space is really not enough for me to name everyone who has had an impact on me.

Every kid who loves basketball wants to play in the league of Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant, but I know it took others giving me hope to make that dream a reality. When I learned this, I realized what a good community I came from. I never take anything for granted and am committed to making a difference in the world off the court and performing well on the court because I know I represent Zaneswell. No matter where I go in the world, I will always remember the times I spent playing with my childhood friends and being on the playground with TJ Anderson, Jeremy Morgan, Andre Hodge, Brody Beauford and Zach Sowers.

I'll never forget playing with these big guys, the '95 state championship and the '97 state game. They were always arguing every ball, never passing the ball to us. We had to do it on our own. Want the ball! These memories gave me a new interpretation of basketball: you'd better work very hard to prepare, because no one has the obligation to kindly help you! This is the Zaneswell way!

It showed when I played for Coach Scott Aronhalt and on the JV team my junior year; when I had to take the ACT three times just to play in college (Thank you, Dr. Bill William Stewart); when I just When I was 19 years old, when I was still a skinny rookie, NBA trainer David Thorpe asked NBA players to beat me violently; coach Rick Adelman iced me on the bench in my rookie year, and this has been confirmed now. reason.

Kevin Martin 退休

To this day, these are the people I love and are most grateful for in my basketball journey. I found that in those difficult times, I carried that pride on my shoulders. I represent Zanesville, a city that allows me to constantly break through myself! Like those moments I mentioned, I know I could never have done it without all of you, and that's the biggest reason that motivates me to come back and give. Thank you very much, I'm looking forward to seeing you too
The next young man from Zaneswell enters the professional sports world. The most important thing is that through the feedback from the community, they will be able to return home in fine clothes in the future and pass it on to the next generation!

To express my gratitude, the Kevin Martin Youth Foundation will donate $100,000 to encourage young students around Zanesville to develop their talents, both on and off the field. Happy Thanksgiving Day!

A die-hard fan of Damian Lillard. He became a fan of the Trail Blazers because of Lillard. I don’t understand the analysis but I understand the story.
